The fastest monk ever.
Once conscripted into his nations army to fight a war against the Thri-kreen. However, Zhou was troubled, his dreams filled with horrific visions of monsters in the darkness. One night, one of the monsters began to speak to him, it offered him power, the power to free himself from his conscription, maybe even enough to end the war. Zhou became increasingly distant from the others, his temper flared often and he got himself in some real trouble from superiors. And then the voice started to make good on its promises. During one particularly bad argument with his C.O. a dark appendage materialised from Zhou’s shoulder, whipping around the room and striking several people. Zhou fled to the monastery, there he put his faith in the monks in hope of redeeming not just his reputation, but his very soul. After a few years at the monastery, training with the monks, he set out on a journey of redemption. He had heard of a group known as the Harpers who took it on themselves to rid the world of evil and the abuse of power and decided to seek them out. A chance meeting in a tavern in Elturel found him traveling north to meet a Harper contact with a new travelling companion, Gundalar Feystal.
